The Garage Fills Up Because Life Keeps Moving Faster Than Cleanup
It starts with one box you didn’t unpack, and then a broken appliance you meant to haul off, then the holiday decorations, the kids’ stuff from five moves ago, and the tools from a project you never finished. A two-car garage becomes a storage unit, and at some point you just stopped trying to reclaim it. Garages accumulate because life moves faster than cleanup, and honestly, that’s not a character flaw.
Now the Garage Is Holding Up Something Else
If you’re selling the house, buyers walk through that garage. If you’re moving, you need the space staged or emptied before closing. If you’re just done with it, you’ve probably already tried to tackle it yourself a few times and hit a wall on the heavy stuff or the sheer volume, so the project keeps getting pushed. Nothing about hauling a full garage’s worth of accumulated items is easy to do alone.
Donation Centers Won’t Take Most of It
A lot of what ends up in garages is furniture that migrated from the house: old dressers, exercise equipment, a bed frame from three apartments ago. Most donation centers won’t take furniture without a scheduled pickup appointment, and those are often booked weeks out. When they do show up, they can turn items down if the condition doesn’t meet their standard, so you’re left with a pile you thought was going to move itself, and it hasn’t.
The Weight Is the Real Problem
A workbench, a chest freezer, a riding mower, a wall of shelving with everything on it: these are not things most people can move without a crew and a trailer. Renting a truck and calling a friend works for light loads. For a real garage cleanout, you need a team that shows up with the equipment to handle what’s actually in there.
We Load Your Whole Garage Out in One Trip, Usually in a Few Hours
Manatee Junk Bros is a locally owned junk removal company based in Bradenton. We run a crew of four, and garage cleanouts are some of our most common jobs: one and two-car garages, large storage areas, detached shops, and the occasional garage that hasn’t been fully accessible in years. We’ve been hauling across Manatee and Sarasota counties since 2020, and we know the difference between a job that takes two hours and one that takes a full day.
We Handle the Heavy Work
We load workbenches, chest freezers, riding mowers, loaded shelving units, and the heavy items most people get stuck on when they try to do this themselves. Nothing gets left behind because it’s awkward or heavy. If it’s on your list and it fits in our trailer, it goes.
One Price Before We Start
We give you a price before the crew lifts a single thing. If you’re not sure how much is in there, we do a quick walkthrough, give you a number, and you decide. No loading surprises, no second quote when someone remembers the back corner. If the scope changes after the walkthrough, we tell you before anything moves.
We Clean Up When We’re Done
After the trailer is loaded, the crew sweeps the areas they worked. We don’t leave cardboard scraps on the floor or small items that didn’t fit. When we call it done, the space looks done.
How Much Does a Garage Cleanout Cost?
Estimate Your Load Before You Call
Garage cleanout pricing depends on how much is in there, and most junk removal companies won’t give you a real number until a crew shows up. We’d rather give you a way to estimate it yourself so you’re not going in blind. The easiest way to think about it is by load size: how much of our trailer will your job fill?
Use the ranges below to get a rough idea, and when you call we can usually confirm a price over the phone or schedule a free walkthrough for larger jobs.
Minimum Load
A handful of items, a few boxes, one or two bulky pieces. About a quarter of our trailer or less.
Starting at $165
Light Cleanout
A one-car garage, mostly cleared. A workbench or shelving unit, some boxes and bins, maybe a small appliance.
$250-$400 estimated
Standard Cleanout
A typical one to two-car garage with regular accumulation: furniture, tools, boxes, an appliance or two, and a full load of general junk.
$400-$650 estimated
Full or Heavy Cleanout
A two-car garage, a workshop, or a garage with heavy equipment. May need two trips. We quote these in person.
$650+ call for estimate
Not sure where your garage falls? Call (941) 354-5865 and describe what’s in there, and we’ll give you a number over the phone in most cases so you know what to expect before you book.
From Your First Call to an Empty Garage: How It Works
We keep it simple because you’ve already been thinking about this long enough.
Step 1. Call or Text, Tell Us What You’re Working With
You don’t need an exact inventory. Call (941) 354-5865, describe roughly what’s in the garage and any heavy or unusual items, and give us the address and your timeline. We’ll give you a price range over the phone or schedule a free on-site walkthrough if the job is large enough to see first.
Step 2. We Lock In a Time and Show Up
Once we agree on a price and a day, that’s the plan. We show up when we say we will, and if anything changes on our end, you hear about it with enough notice to adjust. You deal with Andrew or a crew lead directly, not a national call center.
Step 3. We Load Everything Out
The crew arrives, walks through the garage with you to confirm what’s going, and gets to work. A one-car garage usually takes an hour or two, and a two-car garage with heavy content or built-in shelving typically runs three to four hours. If there’s more than expected, we tell you before loading anything extra.
Step 4. We Clean Up and You’re Done
When the trailer is loaded and the floor is clear, the crew sweeps the space. We handle disposal: items in good condition go to a local donation center when one is on our route. Everything else goes to a certified facility, and you get a confirmation when the job is closed.
What We Take Out of a Garage Cleanout
Most of what ends up in a typical garage is fair game. Here’s what we commonly haul from garage cleanouts across Bradenton, Sarasota, and the surrounding area.
Tools and Equipment
Power tools, hand tools, toolboxes, workbenches, air compressors, generators, pressure washers, and lawn equipment including riding mowers, push mowers, and string trimmers. Old shop equipment and free-standing storage units are also fine.
Furniture and Household Overflow
Mattresses and bed frames, sofas, dressers, dining chairs, exercise equipment, televisions, old appliances, and the furniture that migrated from the house and never made it back. If it’s sitting in the garage and you don’t want it, it goes.
Boxes, Bins, and Everything Else
Boxes of clothing, holiday decorations, sports gear, shelving units still loaded with stuff, bikes, scooters, car parts, and the general pile of things that didn’t have anywhere else to go. We load it all.
What We Don’t Take
The short list for clarity. We don’t haul junk cars or vehicles, concrete, dirt, or hazardous materials: liquid paint, propane tanks, chemicals, and anything requiring licensed disposal. If you’re unsure about a specific item, call us before the crew shows up and we’ll tell you straight.
Why Homeowners Across Bradenton and Sarasota Call Us for Garage Cleanouts
We Answer When You Call
This is what people mention most. They called four or five companies, got voicemails or callback queues, and then we picked up. We give a real answer about what we can do and when. If we’re genuinely booked out and can’t hit your timeline, we say so honestly, because that’s more useful than sending you to voicemail.
We’re Not a Franchise
National junk removal franchises operate through call centers and regional dispatching. We’re four people based in Bradenton, and Andrew runs the crew personally. You talk to the person doing the work, not a call center rep managing a territory. That matters when the scope changes on site and you need a quick answer.
We Know This Area
We work across Manatee and Sarasota counties every week: Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, Palmetto, Parrish, Sarasota, and the surrounding communities. We know the local donation centers, the disposal facilities, and how to navigate the gated communities and HOA-governed neighborhoods that show up constantly in this market.
Local Crew vs. National Franchise:
What Changes for a Garage Cleanout
Both options can get a garage cleared. Here’s where the experience is different.
The National Franchise Approach
You call a national number and reach a call center. The crew dispatched to your job is scheduled through a regional system, not by someone you spoke with. Pricing reflects franchise overhead and national advertising costs. On the day of the job, adjusting scope typically means a new quote, and there’s no direct line to the people doing the work.
- No direct contact with the crew before or during the job
- Pricing includes franchise fees and national ad spend
- Scheduling controlled remotely
- Limited flexibility when scope changes on site
The Manatee Junk Bros Approach
You call or text Andrew directly. Availability is real because you’re talking to the person running the operation. Pricing reflects the actual labor and disposal costs for your specific job. If the garage is bigger than expected, we tell you the adjusted cost before loading anything new. You have a direct line to the owner throughout the job.
- Direct line to the owner-operator, before and during the job
- Pricing based on actual scope, not franchise overhead
- Same-day availability when possible
- Fully insured; COI available on request
Why It Matters More for a Full Cleanout Than a Single Pickup
A single-item pickup is simple and transactional. A full garage cleanout has variables: built-in shelving that takes longer, an appliance outside the original estimate, items you decide to keep at the last minute. The ability to adjust on the fly without calling a dispatch center is what makes the job run smoothly.

Garage Cleanout Questions We Hear Every Week
Do you do same-day garage cleanouts?
Often, yes. If we have a truck available and the job fits the schedule, same-day service is possible. Call (941) 354-5865 as early in the day as you can and we’ll tell you honestly what we can do. Next-day availability is almost always open if you reach us before the end of the business day.
What is the $165 minimum?
The $165 minimum covers approximately a pickup-truck load of material, which is roughly a quarter of our full trailer. If you’re clearing out a full garage, the job will cost more, and we’ll give you a detailed estimate before the crew starts. The minimum exists because anything smaller isn’t cost-effective for either side to schedule and haul.
How long does a garage cleanout take?
A one-car garage with typical accumulation usually runs one to two hours with our crew, and a two-car garage or a garage with heavy built-in content takes three to four hours. Dense storage, built-in shelving, or anything requiring disassembly adds time, and we’ll tell you that upfront during the walkthrough rather than let it surprise you on the day.
Do you take riding mowers and large equipment?
Yes, in most cases. Riding mowers, generators, air compressors, and similar equipment are standard in garage cleanouts and we’re set up for them. The exception is equipment with fuel that hasn’t been drained, so if you have something unusual, describe it when you call and we’ll confirm before the crew shows up.
What if I'm not sure what to keep versus what to haul?
That’s common and it’s not a problem. We do a walkthrough at the start and you tell us what goes and what stays. We only load what you’ve confirmed. If you change your mind mid-job about something the crew already moved toward the door, just say so. Nothing has been loaded yet.
Can you haul off built-in shelving?
Yes. We disassemble and haul shelving bolted to walls or built into the garage. If the shelving is large or dense, factor in extra time when we’re estimating the job. Freestanding units, loaded or empty, are standard.
Will you sort what's donation-worthy before hauling?
We don’t spend job time evaluating every item for resale or donation value, so sorting is not part of our scope. But if something is obviously in good condition, like furniture or boxes of housewares, we’ll take it to a local donation center when one is on our route. Let us know upfront if that matters to you and we’ll route accordingly.
